Dr. Martin Genzel

I'm working as a Staff Machine Learning Researcher at Merantix Momentum. I'm an applied mathematician by training, who is fascinated by the idea of solving computationally challenging problems in the real world by data-driven methods. Most of my previous work focuses on exploring the power of deep learning algorithms for ill-posed inverse problems, computational/medical imaging, signal-processing, and low-complexity models. Prior to Merantix, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) and the Mathematical Institute of Utrecht University. Before this, I completed my PhD at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin in 2019. My original background is in applied functional analysis, high-dimension probability, and compressed sensing.
